All On 4 Implant Treatment
Oral health is one of the most important factors that determine an individual’s quality of life. The loss of teeth with important functions such as chewing, speaking and aesthetics causes both physical and psychological problems for patients. One of the methods developed to replace these missing teeth and increase patient satisfaction is implant treatment. In cases where advanced surgical treatment is required to ensure sufficient bone volume (e.g. sinus lift surgery), both the duration and cost of implant treatment increases.
What is All-On-4 implant treatment?
It is a method used for patients who have no teeth in their mouth. It was created for patients whose mouth structure is not suitable for denture or who do not want to use denture. With this method, patients have new teeth in a few sessions without having to visit the dentist for a long period of time. Compared to the ideal planning of the number of implants, this method places fewer implants in the jaw. With this treatment method, it is possible to make temporary dentures on 4 implants in one day. After 2-3 months, the time needed for the implants to fuse with the bone, permanent dentures are made and the optimal way of chewing, speaking and aesthetic appearance is achieved.
How is the All On 4 implant treatment applied?
It is made with a titanium screw mechanism, just like conventional implants. However, the biggest difference is that conventional implants require 6-8 implants for complete jaw tooth loss, whereas the All on 4 implantation technique places all teeth on only 4 implants.
Patients for whom treatment is planned are first examined radiographically and clinically. By taking measurements on the computed tomography (CT) film, specific planning is made for the patient.
Before treatment, measurements are taken on the patients and temporary prostheses are made according to these measurements. Temporary dentures are placed over the implants to prevent the patient from becoming edentulous and to heal the gums in the ideal position until the permanent teeth are placed.
In the All on 4 treatment, 2 implants are placed in the front of the chin at a 90° angle to the thickest part of the bone and 2 implants are placed in the back of the chin at a 45° angle. Temporary prostheses placed on implants are replaced with permanent prostheses after 3 months.
What are the advantages of the All On 4 implant treatment?
- The treatment time is very short: toothless patients with a full chin regain a healthy appearance quickly and effectively in a short time after completion of the treatment.
- As the number of sessions is small, it may be preferred for people living outside the city or abroad.
- Economical: It is more economical than the traditional implantation method.
- Best results even in difficult situations: Due to the obliquely placed implants with support from the site with good bone quality, damage to the anatomical structures is prevented.
- It is suitable for patients who cannot use removable dentures and have a nausea reflex.
- It offers an aesthetic and natural appearance because it is planned individually.
- – Easy to use: The Maintenance and cleaning is very easy.
Comfortable operation: No additional surgical interventions such as bone augmentation, sinus lift operation are required.
Another advantage is that this treatment method uses screw-retained dentures so that the dentures can be easily removed by the dentist during routine annual check-ups and any necessary checks can be carried out.
For whom can the All On 4 implant treatment be used?
Edentulous patients who do not have a disease that prevents dental implantation and have sufficient bone volume, patients with few teeth in their mouth but who are scheduled for extraction are suitable candidates. However, the final decision is made by your dentist after a three-dimensional assessment of your jaw.
Is there any pain during and after the treatment?
The procedure is performed painlessly under local anaesthesia. People with dental phobia and anxiety can also be treated under se-dation and general anaesthesia.
As with any dental implant process, pain and swelling may occur after the procedure. This discomfort is controlled after the surgical procedure with the appropriate recommended medication and disappears in a short time.
What should be taken into account after the procedure?
Nutrition:
Eating hot and hard foods should be avoided for a few days after the procedure. Cigarette and alcohol consumption should be avoided.
As the period of temporary prostheses is the fusion time of the implants with the bone, soft foods must be consumed to reduce the stress on the implants. Normal diet can be continued with permanent prostheses after 3 months.
Is implant treatment with All On 4 a successful treatment option?
Studies conducted over a long period of time have shown that the All On 4 procedure is a treatment method with a high success rate.
All On 4 Implant treatment is a permanent and fast treatment method used for patients who have lost all their teeth to regain their natural appearance.
